About the Teacher

Hello! My name is Mrs. Jessica Fanara. I graduated from Golden State Baptist College in December 2011 with a B.S. in Secondary Education with a focus on Science and Music.

While I was a student at Golden State, I worked for Noteworthy Music School, as a group piano instructor. I also worked for San Jose Progressions. I was their first teacher employee to start after-school music programs in various San Jose public schools. I was also privileged to work along side Anne Laskey, professor of Music at Holy Names University and director of Kodaly Center for Music Education, and along side Harley Christensen, Director of Education and Development for San Jose Jazz.

Upon graduation in 2011, I taught 1st and 2nd grade at a Christian School in Chicago, IL. After one year of living in Chicago, God brought my husband and I back to Santa Clara. Since moving back, I have taught the music program at Delphi Academy. When I was hired at Delphi, they had not had a music teacher or music program in several years. In the first year of teaching there, Delphi was able to present a wonderful Christmas Program entitled, "A Pirate Christmas" by the middle school. And in the Spring, the lower graders were able to present "A Barnyard Moosical." Also, at Delphi, I conducted four piano recitals, showcasing all the piano class students.

This past summer, I attended college courses and private lessons to broaden my musical knowledge in the area of Voice, Piano, and Organ.

I am so honored to be teaching the Elementary Music Department at North Valley Baptist Schools. It has always been a dream to teach at my alma mater under Pastor Jack Trieber and Principal Dan Azzarello. Keep me in your prayers. I'm going to need it in bulk!
